Unscrew the ring almost all the way, which will allow you to lift the top cover off the sensor safely. Then unscrew it completely and remove the cover. Unplug the battery connector and remove the battery.
Take the opportunity to check the condition of the desiccant bag, which will need replacing if it turns green.
Replace the old battery with a new one, then put the cover back on as far as it will go. Make sure the notch is correctly positioned.
Screw the clamping ring back on tightly.
